In yesterday’s Windows 11 23H2 update – Dell laptop got it already post, I mentioned that the standard Windows Settings > Windows Update method had “popped up saying that the 23H2 update was ready,” and that the update went very fast.
That update method uses ‘servicing technology (like that used for the monthly update process), providing a fast installation experience.’ The Installation Assistant method I used this morning was much much slower—taking about 45 minutes.
Your internet connection may make it quicker or slower than my 45 minutes, but still doubtful that the Installation Assistant can do it in a few minutes like the ‘servicing technology’ of the standard update delivery method, IMHO.
Also, Windows OEM PC built computers may be in line to get the 23H2 update sooner than someone like me who builds their own desktop computers—Here. Dell may be the first OEM in line for the update, e.g., my Dell XPS 13 got it on the first day.
My Dell XPS 13 got the 23H2 update on 10/31/2023, but my three home built desktops still haven’t gotten the update. My computers are listed Here.
Was doing a daily update on ‘XPS13‘ and a notice popped up saying that the 23H2 update was ready whenever I wanted it.
May 1967 – Egyptian president Nasser announced that the Straits of Tiran would again be closed to Israeli vessels, and then moved the Egyptian military aggressively along the border with Israel.
Israel reminded Egypt of its post-1956 position that another Egyptian closure of the Straits of Tiran to Israeli shipping would be a definite casus belli.
Egypt ignored the Israeli warning, and on 6/5/1967 the Six-Day War began – involving Israel against Egypt, Egyptian Sinai Peninsula, Egyptian-occupied Gaza Strip, Jordan, Jordanian-annexed West Bank, Syria, and many other Arab countries.
Israel quickly won that war and claimed Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, Egyptian-occupied Gaza Strip, Jordanian-annexed West Bank, and Syria’s Golan Heights.
Just 56-years latter – the Gaza Palestinians launched another war against Israel. Now they are whining to the world about how mean the Israelis are to them.
The 10/7/2023 Gaza Palestinian sneak attack resulted in the beheading, murder, and kidnapping of Israeli babies. Resulted in the raping, murder, beheading, and kidnapping of Israeli women & children. More than 1,400 people were killed during that sneak attack in Israel, including children, and more than 4,500 people were injured.
Still, these Gaza Palestinian cowards whine to the world about how mean the Israelis are to them.
Ever use a Spray Foam to help insulate your home?
Spray foam (expanding foam in the UK) is a chemical product created by two materials, isocyanate and polyol resin, which react when mixed with each other and expand up to 30-60 times its liquid volume after it is sprayed in place. This expansion makes it useful as a specialty packing material which forms to the shape of the product being packaged and produces a high thermal insulating value with virtually no air infiltration.
Spray foam insulation, like other insulation, saves on energy costs and lowers utility bills. Studies by the US Department of Energy show that 40% of a home’s energy is lost as the result of air infiltration through walls, windows and doorways. Buildings treated with spray foam insulation insulate as much as 50% better than traditional insulation products.
Squirt a little of that stuff into the cracks & small openings that are letting that cold or hot air into or out of your home, and save on your electric bills. No air gets thru that stuff! I used it when building my small hut, and the interior stays cool in summer & warm in winter—electric bill is shamefully low ($74.73 for October, and has never been over $90 a month).
You have to be careful with it, i.e., spraying too much around a door jamb can warp the frame, damage the door, etc. Not sure what too much of it would do to a tunnels structure at the entrance of one (possibly causing tunnel to collapse??), but no air is going to get in that way.
