Porteus-v5.01 – Cinnamon DE with Kernel 6.5.5

‘Porteus is a fast, portable and modular live CD/USB medium based on Slackware Linux.’ Not an ounce of bloat on this Porteus-CINNAMON-v5.01-x86_64.iso @ just 380 MB. After adding apps & tweaking it only uses 1.7 GiB, so it easily fits on the 32 GB SanDisk USB.

Classic Block ­– replicates old Classic Editor ‘while inside the WordPress block editor’

The WordPress Gutenberg Block Editor drove humble me away from running my primary Blog at WordPress.com. ‘Following the launch of WordPress 5.0 in December 2018’, the WordPress Block Editor ‘was set as the default editor and replaced the classic editor’.

I started blogging on Blogger before Google purchased it in 2003. Heck, I even learned how to write my posts in HTML before leaving Blogger in May of 2004. Still, that Gutenberg Block Editor kicked my buttocks every time I tried it. Even setup a free WP blog site to just test the Block Editor.

Had even purchased a $300 WP Business plan to avoid using that durn Block Editor on my Linux Newbie – Since 1996 primary blog. Started looking for a Web Hosting service during that 1-year WP Business plan subscription—hey, I wasn’t about to pay $300 every year for a simple personal blog.

Jeez…what a pain that search was!!! Long story, but the short of it was I settled on a Hostinger 4-year Introductory plan for a onetime cost of $107.56 (about $2.25 a month). Renewal price will be a onetime cost of $335.52 – in 10/19/2026. Gotta check both the Introductory prices & the Renewal prices on any plan you check out!

4-years for the WP Business plan is $1,200. I’ll look for a coupon before renewing in late 2026 to see if that $335.52 can be lowered a tad, but that price breaks down to just $83.88 a year, which is still a bargain.

How to turn a $314.57 Chromebook into a Fedora Linux Laptop/Tablet/Sketchbook

This was done using ‘Sam’ my new 12.2” Samsung Chromebook Plus V2 XE521QAB. Tried this same method on the new HP Chromebook – 14a-na0023cl (‘Chromebook’) ‘n it didn’t work. I had purchased two Chromebooks wid the hopes of turning one into a Fedora Linux laptop.

Yan Petrovsky (AKA Voislav Torden) – Rusich Nazi War Criminal wants to go back to Russia

His Rusich Nazi War Criminal comrades are now whining to Russia ‘that they will not participate in any combat in Ukraine until Russia secured the release of Petrovsky. The group had been fighting on the Robotyne-Verbove line, defending the sector from the 2023 Ukrainian counteroffensive…’

Sounds like maybe the Rusich Nazi War Criminals are just making empty ultimatums – since the Ukrainians just captured Robotyne and are all over Verbove. Maybe they are just looking for an excuse to flee from Ukraine before they all end up in front of a War Criminal court.

Why was Yan Petrovsky in Finland instead of fighting in Ukraine anyway?

The Rusich Nazis are connected to the Wagner Group of War Criminals, and Putin just murdered Yevgeny Prigozhin, so maybe they are mad at Russia for that—or think that they are all on Putin’s ‘Hit List’ now.

Gun Safety courses for American Schools & Mine Safety courses for Ukrainian Schools

Many American Public schools no longer focus on teaching The three Rs – said as “reading, ‘riting, and ‘rithmetic“. Public schools in America focus more on Sexually Grooming Children, and teaching the racist Critical Race Theory (CRT), which results in articles like this:

U.S. reading and math scores drop to lowest level in decades – ‘The average test scores for U.S. 13-year-olds have dipped in reading and dropped sharply in math … The average scores, from tests given last fall, declined 4 points in reading and 9 points in math, compared with tests given in the 2019-2020 school year, and are the lowest in decades … Among Black students, math scores declined 13 points, while white students had a 6-point drop. Compared with the 35-point gap between Black and white students in 2020, the disparity widened to 42 points.’

(NOTE the different spelling of black & white for students – “between Black and white students” – which is about as racist as it can get, and is what is happening in America’s Public Schools)
