Anthropogenic Climate Change vs Natural Climate Change

How many scientists here have heard of the Ice Ages? Raise your hands. Thank you.

An ice age is a long period of reduction in the temperature of Earth’s surface and atmosphere, resulting in the presence or expansion of continental and polar ice sheets and alpine glaciers.

If “reduction in the temperature of Earth’s surface and atmosphere” creates an Ice Age – then what melts an Ice Age and/or makes that Ice Age go away?

Earth’s climate alternates between ice ages, and greenhouse periods during which there are no glaciers on the planet.

The oldest known Ice Age was the Huronian, which occurred between 2.4 and 2.1 billion years ago. How many scientists here believe that humans caused the Huronian glaciation to end? Over half of you. OK, over half of you got that one wrong.

The oldest known evidence of hominins—our early human-like ancestors—dates back to around 6-7 million years ago.

Humans weren’t around to melt the Huronian Ice Age, or any of the dozens that followed. I’m no scientist, but even I can spot that gap.

Democrats & Republicans = ‘Two Peas in the same Pod

Does America needs a new ‘Pod’? America certainly needs more than just the identical likeness or similar pair that the Democratic and Republican parties offer.

As a No Party Affiliation (NPA) registered Florida voter, I can’t stand either the Democratic or Republican party and usually vote against whichever I find most objectionable at the time. I voted against Harris last November. What a choice – Trump or Harris. While Trump has done better domestically this time around, his foreign policy has been a disaster—bordering on treason, in my humble opinion, particularly in his actions enabling Russia to recover from their reinvasion of Ukraine.

Both the Democratic and Republican parties support BIG government – though each wants their own version of it. Both appear left-wing to me, though Republicans might be considered center-wing. However, for clarity, I’ll use the conventional left-wing and right-wing labels. Political terminology can be quite confusing – I only recently learned that the Republican party encompasses Republicans, Conservatives, and “Classic Liberals.”

ChatGPT – What is the history of fires in California?

Modern California is about how to start fires—thru bad environment practices.

Indigenous Fire Practices (Pre-European Settlement)

• Indigenous peoples of California, such as the Miwok, Chumash, and Yurok, used fire as a tool for thousands of years.

• They practiced controlled burns to clear underbrush, promote the growth of useful plants, maintain grasslands, and reduce the risk of large-scale wildfires.

• These practices created a balanced fire regime that helped sustain ecosystems and reduced fuel loads.

News Media – TOP 5 Most Influential in 2024

Some have complained about the Republicans and/or Conservatives not having much ‘Media Sway’.

Anyone paying attention should know by now that that is no longer the case. Old Media—Legacy Media finally upped and died in 2024.

In the past, Old Media—Legacy Media had bragged about being able to help the Democratic party gain about ‘15%’ more votes. I don’t know how they had arrived at that number, but seems that it was always about ‘15%’. For awhile, it was looking like they could carry Kamala Harris across the finish line in first place—as America’s First Woman President.

I first noticed a ‘Trump Surge’ after Elon Musk joined Trump in his return to Butler, Pennsylvania—a second rally at the site of first assassination attempt. Then another ‘Trump Surge’ after the 3-hour interview with Joe Rogan.

Let’s see what Lean Left’ Mediaite has to say about about the “Most Influential in News Media 2024”:
