Wine-Staging maintainer. I downloaded the <b>Nobara-39-Official-Nvidia-2023-12-24.iso<\/b> @ 3.90GB.<\/p>\n<p>Unless you\u2019re a GNOME enthusiast then I suggest going with the Official based on a customized KDE version\u2014it is incredibly easy to use for anyone not familiar with Linux or KDE.<\/p>\n<p>I used <a href=\"https:\/\/etcher.balena.io\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Balena Etcher<\/a> to create a bootable 16GB installation USB.<\/p>\n<p>When Nobara first started they used the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Anaconda_(installer)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Anaconda<\/b><\/a> (installer), which can be confusing to some new users. There is also a Nobara Package Manager to handle adding apps. Prior to installation, when selecting the test media option, it kept rejecting the media so I just skipped testing it.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/index.php\/pcs\/my-computers\/\"><i><b>Rose<\/b><\/i><\/a>\u2019 is my main test computer, and maybe Nobara didn\u2019t like the Kingwin <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kingwin.com\/kf-251-bk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>KF-251-BK<\/b><\/a> Dual-Bay Internal Tray-less Rack Hot-Swap bay I had the test SSD in, but it took a couple of attempts before it would reboot into the OS. I use those bays to keep OSes separate from each other during tests.<\/p>\n<p>Another issue I had was it would sometimes go to a blank screen when I was doing a task. That seems to have ended after doing some tweaking and updating.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span>Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Seemed a little more \u2018<i>sensitive<\/i>\u2019 this time during tests, but may have been with the test 120GB SSD or something about the \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/index.php\/pcs\/my-computers\/\"><i><b>Rose<\/b><\/i><\/a>\u2019 test machine&#8230;I dunno. Maybe not totally ready for some new users yet, unless they were looking for a great Linux OS to \u2018<i>Grow<\/i>\u2019 with.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, it was a great test, and <a href=\"https:\/\/nobaraproject.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Nobara Linux<\/b><\/a> Official version was extremely easy to move around in and to use. Vanilla KDE Plasma can be daunting for most new users, but developer <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/GloriousEggroll\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thomas Crider<\/a> has done an excellent job of customizing KDE in the Official version, and it would be easy for Windows users, Cinnamon DE users, and even Mate DE users to use, IMHO.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keep your eye on this Linux Distro!!!<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nobara Linux was first released on 7\/10\/2022, obviously quite new, and it is being developed &amp; maintained by Thomas Crider \u2018GloriousEggroll\u2019 \u2013 a \u201cSoftware Maintenance Engineer @ Red Hat.
