Probably can\u2019t see them from space like Zelenskyy\u2019s though. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>I had used Twitter for 10-12 years before Musk stole it from the Progressives, but never cared much for it, and was terrible at using it. Progressives were great at it since lies don\u2019t require many characters, but even the 280-character limit was difficult for me, and the original 140-character limit was impossible for me.<\/p>\n<p>Elon Musk concluded the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Acquisition_of_Twitter_by_Elon_Musk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Acquisition of Twitter<\/a> on 10\/27\/2022, and I signed up for the $8 per month Twitter Blue subscription on 12\/14\/2022. On 10\/14\/2023 the subscription automatically changed from Twitter Blue to X Premium. The speeds that Musk moves at can leave this humble swamp hermit almost dizzy at times.<\/p>\n<p>In early April 2023 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestreet.com\/technology\/twitter-to-x-the-complete-timeline-of-elon-musks-twitter-purchase\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter<\/a> \u201cquietly became X Corp.\u201d Guess I heard about the rebranding of Twitter to <strong>X<\/strong> around 7\/24\/2023, and was surprised by such a move. Didn\u2019t like the change at all \u2013 what the heck was Musk doing!?!?!?!?!<\/p>\n<p>Today, 12\/17\/2023, I find myself using the name <b>X<\/b> as easily as I used Twitter previously. However, just learned today what the former \u201cTweet\u201d is now called \u2013 \u2018<i><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/08\/03\/technology\/twitter-x-tweets-elon-musk.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tweets are now posts<\/a>.<\/b><\/i>\u2019<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4425 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/NYT-paywall-500x436.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"436\" srcset=\"https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/NYT-paywall-500x436.jpg 500w, https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/NYT-paywall-400x350.jpg 400w, https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/NYT-paywall.jpg 614w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The article is behind a New York Times paywall, but I got past it using a Tor browser the first time. I will gladly pay <b>X<\/b> $8 per month for a subscription, but wouldn\u2019t pay the New York Times 1-cent <strong>per decade<\/strong> for their subscription\u2014<i>well<\/i>, not unless Elon Musk acquired it. \ud83d\ude01<\/p>\n<p>Forgot to mention earlier \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/help.twitter.com\/en\/using-x\/x-premium\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>X Premium<\/b><\/a> allows me 25,000 characters per post, but I haven\u2019t been able to write one that long so far. \ud83d\udc4c\ud83d\udc4d<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Overton_Window_Advertisers\"><\/span>Overton Window &amp; Advertisers<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Apparently Politicians and Advertisers are a lot alike, especially when it comes to Policies or Products. Can you guess when they went <b>WOKE<\/b>? Their stock had already started dropping in November 2021. Then in March 2022 Disney\u2019s Leadership decided to support Child Groomers &amp; Child Grooming against Gov. Ron DeSantis, and their stock took a serious drop. Here\u2019s what they said on page 18 of their recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/ix?doc=\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/0001744489\/000174448923000216\/dis-20230930.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION<\/strong><\/a> report:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4429 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Disney-risks.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"714\" height=\"184\" srcset=\"https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Disney-risks.jpg 714w, https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Disney-risks-500x129.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 714px) 100vw, 714px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>Yeah<\/em>, Child Groomers &amp; Child Grooming ain\u2019t real popular with the \u201cpublic and consumer tastes and preferences\u201d of a majority of Americans.<\/p>\n<p>So, \u2018<i>Advertiser<\/i>\u2019 Disney, who has been damaging its \u2018<i>Name<\/i>\u2019 for 2-3 years now, decides to join the Progressive <b>WOKE<\/b> Boycott Bandwagon against Elon Musk\u2019s <b>X<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><i>Basically<\/i>, Disney is continuing its attack against the \u201cpublic and consumer tastes and preferences\u201d of a majority of Americans, who appreciate \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/farzyness\/status\/1736082262578331655\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i>the new \u201cFreedom of Speech\u201d rules that X<\/i><\/a>\u2019 had brought to it by Elon Musk.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Who_is_Farzad_Mesbahi\"><\/span>Who is Farzad Mesbahi?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>He\u2019s a lot smarter than <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Forrest_Gump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Forrest<\/a> and me put together, <i><u>for sure<\/u><\/i>. \ud83d\ude33<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.farzadmesbahi.com\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Farzad Mesbahi<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Farzad was born on January 19th, 1987 in Cordoba, Spain, as the elder of two sons. His parents were immigrants who left Iran during the revolution of 1979 in search for a better life.<\/p>\n<p>After 12 years in Spain, the family emigrated to the United States; first settling in Montclair, New Jersey, and in 2003 moving to Pennsylvania. He attended Liberty High School in Bethlehem until 2005, when he got in to Penn State University from which he graduated in 2009 with a BS in Mathematics and a Minor in Statistics.<\/p>\n<p>In 2010, Farzad started his career at Phillips Pet Food &amp; Supplies, the premier Pet Food and Pet Supply distributor in the US. He left the company after 7 years as a Director of Business Intelligence and Pricing after successfully building out a Business Intelligence suite and executing pricing strategies.<\/p>\n<p>In 2016 Farzad married the love of his life, Cindy. They launched a business in the same year \u2013 an escape room named Human vs. Room servicing the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania. It had a successful run for 4 years and closed up right before the COVID-19 pandemic in December 2019.<\/p>\n<p>In 2017 he joined Tesla based out of Bethlehem PA, helping the ramp of the company\u2019s parts distribution network in the US and overseas. He left Tesla in 2021 after a successful build out of the network as a Program Manager.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, Farzad finds himself with Cindy in Austin, Texas, beginning a journey to find his true passions and give back to the universe what it has given him.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s actively creating content on YouTube and X related to the future of technology. Once that deal was closed, a bunch of advertisers left the platform out of fear of their brands being impacted by the new \u201cFreedom of Speech\u201d rules that X was looking to implement.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #bf0041;\"><i>snip<\/i><\/span> \u2026 After leaving the platform for a few weeks, almost all advertisers have come back, albeit with lower ad spends. However, earlier this year, X gave guidance that the platform is near cash-flow neutral, minus debt obligations. This means that even though the platform has suffered losses in terms of ad revenue, the company is close to being self-sufficient.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #bf0041;\"><i>s<\/i><\/span><span style=\"color: #bf0041;\"><i>nip<\/i><\/span> \u2026 Fast forward a few months, and after controversial comments made by Elon and an effort by Media Matters to encourage advertisers to boycott the platform, advertisers left again.<\/p>\n<p>However \u2013 just like the first time, after a few weeks, advertisers are beginning to come back.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #bf0041;\"><i>snip<\/i><\/span> \u2026 I think all of this points to something quite clear \u2013 <b>the Overton Window is beginning to shift, and with it, a massively profitable endeavor for advertisers<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>For those that are not familiar, the Overton Window is a term used to express what is \u201cacceptable\u201d to be discussed in a given time period. If you compare what is acceptable to be discussed on X today, vs what was acceptable on Twitter pre-acquisition, you can very clearly see that the \u201cacceptable\u201d topics are much more diverse and plentiful. This means that the Overton Window has shifted.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #bf0041;\"><i>snip<\/i><\/span> \u2026 What does this mean for X? It\u2019s quite simple \u2013 X\u2019s willingness to stand for Free Speech, even when the CEO makes statements that cause the business to temporarily lose revenue, is creating a brand new market for advertisers that previously did not exist <b>precisely due to an unwillingness to embrace Freedom of Speech<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #bf0041;\"><i>snip<\/i><\/span> \u2026 I do not suspect we\u2019ll see another advertisers boycott in the future because of this dynamic.
