It has improved over the past year, IMHO, and seemed to be a tad easier and more efficient this time.<\/p>\n<p>About 51 pictures this time, so am going to try and let most of the pics \u2018<i>Speak for themselves<\/i>\u2019 by adding a brief \u201cCaption\u201d describing the step. It is packaged with different pre-configured installers, such as a &#8220;guided&#8221; installer.<\/i>\u2019<\/p>\n<p>I <a href=\"https:\/\/archlinux.org\/download\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">downloaded<\/a> the <b>archlinux-2023.12.01-x86_64.iso<\/b> @ 872 MB from the closest mirror listed, and the archinstall comes with the iso. Used <a href=\"https:\/\/etcher.balena.io\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Etcher<\/a> to create the bootable USB. Then there are the three at the bottom \u2013 <b>Save configuration<\/b> (<i>or not<\/i>), <b>Install<\/b>, or <b>Abort<\/b>. Arch, it\u2019s almost 2024 and your OS doesn\u2019t even provide internet access for Ethernet connection in your archinstall installer!?! Internet with the archinstall installer, but no internet after installation!?!<\/p>\n<p>That was one \u2018<i>Flaw<\/i>\u2019 outta two that I found post installation. Took some time, lots of \u2018<i>Hit &amp; Miss<\/i>\u2019, but finally got it. Forgot to bookmark the one that worked&#8230;OOPS!<\/p>\n<p>This just <i><u>worked for me<\/u><\/i> in another test:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>sudo pacman -S networkmanager<\/b> (<i>that installed Network Manager<\/i>)<\/li>\n<li><b>sudo systemctl enable NetworkManager<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>sudo systemctl start NetworkManager<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I had done installs on two different test SSD\u2019s, but had only tweaked one of them to get a fully working Arch OS. I would post links to those commands, <i>but again<\/i>, it required \u2018<i>Hit &amp; Miss<\/i>\u2019 to find the right combo of commands to get the internet connection working.<\/p>\n<p>Second flaw was the same as the last time I tested <a href=\"https:\/\/wiki.archlinux.org\/title\/Archinstall\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">archinstall<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-4325 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/No-System-Settings-icon.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"956\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/No-System-Settings-icon.jpg 956w, https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/No-System-Settings-icon-500x209.jpg 500w, https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/No-System-Settings-icon-768x321.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 956px) 100vw, 956px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>No icon for System Settings!?
