After I saw the first big drop in price, I purchased it at $509.99, and a day later it dropped again to $499.99.<\/p>\n<p>I don&#8217;t ever recall Intel dropping their price for their top <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intel.com\/content\/www\/us\/en\/products\/details\/processors\/core\/i9.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Intel\u00ae Core\u2122 i9 Processors<\/b><\/a> <i>this much\u2013<\/i><i>this early<\/i>, e.g., best price for an i9-12900K right now is $402.27. It must be a good time to Build and\/or Upgrade a desktop computer \u2014 the ASUS Dual NVIDIA <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newegg.com\/asus-geforce-rtx-3060-ti-dual-rtx3060ti-o8gd6x\/p\/N82E16814126612?Item=N82E16814126612\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>GeForce RTX 3060 Ti<\/b><\/a> OC Edition I had just purchased for $364.00 (<i>which was a bargain<\/i>) is now at $319.99 from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bhphotovideo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">B&amp;H<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;<i>To Make a Long Story Short<\/i>&#8216; \u2014 after buying the CPU, I decided to go ahead &#8216;n purchase all the needed components to build a new computer inside the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/stores\/APEVIA\/X-Qpack3_ComputerShellCases\/page\/A81717F2-B047-4A45-B6C1-52C62A54F43B\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Apevia<\/a> case (<i>no longer available &amp; <strong>mine doesn&#8217;t have all those LIGHTS!<\/strong><\/i>). The case for &#8216;<i>Frank<\/i>&#8216; is a Cooler Master Elite 130, and it is now made up from parts of \u2018<i>CM130<\/i>\u2019 &amp; \u2018<i>Antec Jr.<\/i>\u2019 (both <i>damaged in lightning strike<\/i>) &amp; &#8216;<i>InWin<\/i>&#8216; (<i>for it&#8217;s MoBo<\/i>).<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;<i>Rose<\/i>&#8216; is in an old <a href=\"https:\/\/linuxnewbiesince1996.wordpress.com\/2019\/03\/24\/build-your-own-linux-computer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i><b>Build<\/b><\/i><\/a> using a $20 Rosewill \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newegg.com\/p\/N82E16811147123\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>FBM-01<\/b><\/a> Micro ATX Mini Tower case, originally built around March 24, 2019, and has had many upgrades since then \u2014 none bigger than this new Upgrade (AKA &#8216;<i>Plastic Surgery<\/i>&#8216;). \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>The Rosewill case is my second favorite case \u2014 <i><u>Evah<\/u><\/i> wid the Apevia case my all-time favorite. Removed the 32 GBs of memory &amp; the SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus SSD 500GB \u2013 M.2 NVMe Interface SSD (<i>had Win11 Pro<\/i>) from the Apevia case, then removed the ASUS Prime Z490M-PLUS MoBo intact, and placed it in the Rosewill case. Took the 16 GBs of memory from the old GIGABYTE H310M A board &#8216;n placed it in the newer Z490M-PLUS MoBo.<\/p>\n<p>The Rosewill case already had a Kingwin <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kingwin.com\/kf-251-bk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>KF-251-BK<\/b><\/a> Dual-Bay in it, and I added the Kingwin <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kingwin.com\/kf-253-bk-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>KF-253-BK<\/b><\/a> Dual-Bay from Apevia to it. I can put the Win11 Pro SSD in the KF-253-BK top bay, and a DATA SSD in it&#8217;s bottom bay\u2013turn the bays off when testing Linux OSes in the Kingwin KF-251-BK Dual-Bay. The KF-253-BK also has two USB 3.0 ports<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Benchmark_results_after_Upgrade\"><\/span>Benchmark results after Upgrade<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2608 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/1a-Rose-upgrade-Benchmark.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"880\" height=\"248\" srcset=\"https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/1a-Rose-upgrade-Benchmark.jpg 880w, https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/1a-Rose-upgrade-Benchmark-500x141.jpg 500w, https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/1a-Rose-upgrade-Benchmark-768x216.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 880px) 100vw, 880px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.userbenchmark.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>UserBenchmark<\/b><\/a> tests offer results for Gaming, Desktop (&#8216;<i>Desktop Duty<\/i>&#8216;), and Workstation. The old MSI GeForce <a href=\"https:\/\/www.msi.com\/Graphics-Card\/GeForce-GTX-1660-SUPER-VENTUS-XS-OC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>GTX 1660 SUPER\u2122<\/b><\/a> VENTUS XS OC is still doing a great job! \ud83d\udc4d\ud83d\ude01\ud83d\udc4f\ud83d\udc4c<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-2610 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/1b-results-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"732\" height=\"554\" srcset=\"https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/1b-results-1.jpg 732w, https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/1b-results-1-500x378.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 732px) 100vw, 732px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/ark.intel.com\/content\/www\/us\/en\/ark\/products\/199332\/intel-core-i910900k-processor-20m-cache-up-to-5-30-ghz.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Intel\u00ae Core\u2122 i9-10900K<\/b><\/a> launched in Q2&#8217;20 and is still the &#8220;cat&#8217;s whiskers&#8221; performance wise! It is running between $319.99 to $377.99, so this is a major &#8216;<i>Freebie<\/i>&#8216; Upgrade for &#8216;Rose&#8217;!!! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Conclusion\"><\/span>Conclusion<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>OK \u2014 I had saved a fresh <a href=\"https:\/\/www.howtogeek.com\/4241\/how-to-create-a-system-image-in-windows\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Back and Restore (Windows 7)<\/b><\/a> image of Win11 Pro OS on the SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus SSD 500GB \u2013 M.2 NVMe Interface SSD, and then restored it to a standard 500 GB SAMSUNG SSD before removing it from the ASUS Prime Z490M-PLUS MoBo. The M.2 NVMe will now be used on the new ASUS Prime <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asus.com\/us\/motherboards-components\/motherboards\/prime\/prime-z790m-plus-d4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Z790M-PLUS<\/b><\/a> D4 MoBo headed to the Apevia case.<\/p>\n<p>Everything went well wid the &#8216;<i>Plastic Surgery<\/i>&#8216; for &#8216;<i>Rose<\/i>&#8216; \ud83d\ude09 and I am very pleased wid the results right now!<\/p>\n<p>The Rosewill case is more difficult to work in than the Apevia case, but went easier wid the mATX 9.6&#8243; x 9.6&#8243; Z490M-PLUS than it seemed to have gone wid the old mATX H310M A at a 8.89&#8243; x 7.28&#8243; size?! \ud83e\udd14<\/p>\n<p><i>Anyway<\/i>, Part 3 is up next&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A lot has happened since Part 1 on 5\/29\/23 \u2014 mainly, the Intel\u00ae Core\u2122 i9-13900K CPU started dropping in price &#8216;n then dropped again.
