I don&#8217;t have pics of the <i>Optional step<\/i> since I am a <a href=\"https:\/\/linuxnewbiesince1996.wordpress.com\/2020\/10\/21\/how-to-become-a-fulltime-linux-root-user\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i><b>Fulltime Linux Root User<\/b><\/i><\/a> on all my computers &#8216;n OSes that are on USB&#8217;s. I usually import Bookmarks and add Extensions to the Firefox browser. I had mentioned having an issue wid a Nvidia driver during an upgrade in <a href=\"https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/index.php\/2023\/04\/21\/fedora-linux-38-cinnamon-spin-part-1-upgrade-from-36-37\/\"><b>Part 1<\/b><\/a>, but resolved it; <i>however<\/i>, wasn&#8217;t happy wid the resolving, &#8216;n so tested again wid just a clean install.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.fedoraproject.org\/en-US\/quick-docs\/anaconda\/anaconda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Anaconda<\/a> installer had spotted my Nvidia TU116 GeForce 1660 &#8216;n installed the <a href=\"https:\/\/nouveau.freedesktop.org\/CodeNames.html#NV160\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">nouveau <b>NV168<\/b><\/a> driver for it \u2013 on my &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/linuxnewbiesince1996.wordpress.com\/buy-low-or-byoc-build-your-own-computer-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><i><b>Rose<\/b><\/i><\/a>&#8216; test computer \u2013 <i>however<\/i>, I wanted the Nvidia proprietary driver. Maybe one of these days Fedora will allow the GPU proprietary drivers to be installed during the installation process \u2013 like quite a few other Distros do, or offer an easier way post installation. \ud83d\ude15<\/p>\n<p>Turns out that a method I had been using since Fedora 32 wasn&#8217;t working right wid Fedora 38. <i><u>One or more<\/u><\/i> of the steps in <b><a href=\"https:\/\/linuxconfig.org\/how-to-install-the-nvidia-drivers-on-fedora-32\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How to install the NVIDIA drivers on Fedora 32<\/a> <\/b>wasn&#8217;t working, so I looked for another method, and found it here \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/rpmfusion.org\/Configuration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Installing Free and Nonfree Repositories<\/a> <b>&amp;<\/b> <a href=\"https:\/\/rpmfusion.org\/Howto\/NVIDIA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How to NVIDIA<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The RPM Fusion Free &amp; Nonfree Repositories need added before the Nvidia driver gets added. Then do the same wid <b>rpmfusion-<\/b><b>non<\/b><b>free-release-38.noarch.rpm<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Next we go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/rpmfusion.org\/Howto\/NVIDIA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How to NVIDIA<\/a> page &#8216;n scroll down to the <i>Installing the drivers<\/i> section.
