I mention my computers a lot in most of my posts, so this page will also help by identifying what that \u2018<em>mentioned<\/em>\u2019 computer is about, e.g. build or buy, components, usage, etc. My computers seem to end up being named after the Case maker (&#8216;<em>Sam<\/em>&#8216; the converted Chromebook, &#8216;<em>XPS13<\/em>&#8216; the Dell laptop, and &#8216;<em>Frank<\/em>&#8216; are the exceptions). I have been rebuilding, upgrading and\/or building computers for a long time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>1) <a href=\"https:\/\/karmismusingstech.com\/?s=Builds&amp;id=553\">Apevia<\/a>: <\/strong>6\/17\/23 \u2013 &#8216;<em>Apevia<\/em>&#8216; is my main working computer running Win11 Pro. Just went thru a new rebuild, and the old MoBo went into &#8216;<em>Rose<\/em>&#8216; as an Upgrade for that computer. G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2400 (PC4 19200). Only new part has been the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newegg.com\/p\/N82E16811353108\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>DIYPC MA01-R<\/b><\/a> case. Will use old spare power supply from 2006 Antec case, and add old spare HDD\/SSD Hot Swap Sata Bay. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newegg.com\/p\/N82E16811353108\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>DIYPC MA01-R<\/b><\/a> case is the worst case I&#8217;ve seen since 2006, and it will be the last computer I use out of the 6 desktops.<\/p>\n<p>8\/30\/2022 <strong>UPDATE<\/strong>:<strong>\u00a0InWin<\/strong> was gutted for MoBo. <strong>Old info<\/strong> &#8211; Intel i3-8100 .. small Form Factor with an InWin Mini-ITX case .. 8 GB\u2019s G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series .. ASUS PRIME H310I-PLUS mini-ITX MoBo. Final cost for original build was \u2013 <em><strong>$402.84<\/strong><\/em>. Is now the TV computer.<\/p>\n<p>8\/28\/2022 <strong>UPDATE<\/strong>: <strong>Antec Jr.<\/strong> &#8211; was struck by lightning or the surge from it, on 8\/28\/2022, and have gutted it for parts. See the <em>Computers &amp; Lightning<\/em> post for more info. <em><strong>NOTE<\/strong><\/em> old info &#8211; <em><u>Upgraded<\/u><\/em> from a 2016 build using the same Antec Sonata Proto case\u2026I consider it a new 2019 build using an old 2016 case and a CORSAIR CX-M Series CX650M 650W 80 PLUS BRONZE semi-modular power supply. New Gigabyte Z390 UD MoBo was added, VENGEANCE\u00ae LPX <strong>32GB (4 x 8GB) kit<\/strong>, Intel\u00ae Core\u2122 <strong>i9-9900 Processor<\/strong>, 3 different kinds of SATA Hot Swap Bays (<em><strong>*NO*<\/strong> internal drive\/s on a Linux test machine<\/em>), a DVD-rom, and a EVGA <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newegg.com\/evga-geforce-gtx-1660-06g-p4-1161-kr\/p\/N82E16814487437\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GeForce GTX 1660 XC<\/a> GPU.<\/p>\n<p>8\/28\/2022 <strong>UPDATE<\/strong>:<strong>\u00a0CM130<\/strong> &#8211; was also struck by lightning on 8\/28\/2022, and will eventually be gutted for parts. See the <em>Computers &amp; Lightning<\/em> post for more info. <em><strong>NOTE<\/strong><\/em> old info: Small Form Factor build .. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coolermaster.com\/catalog\/cases\/mini-itx\/elite130\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cooler Master Elite 130<\/a> \u2018n Ryzen\u2122 9 3900X w\/ the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newegg.com\/cooler-master-masterliquid-lite-120-liquid-cooling-system\/p\/N82E16835103236?Item=N82E16835103236\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Cooler Master MasterLiquid Lite 120 AIO CPU Liquid Cooler<\/strong><\/a>, 16GBs memory, GeForce <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/linuxnewbiesince1996.wordpress.com\/2021\/02\/11\/10-14-for-windows-10-pro-product-activation-key-brief-gtx-1050-ti-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GTX 1050 Ti<\/a><\/strong> OC 4GB GDDR5 (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gigabyte.com\/Graphics-Card\/GV-N105TOC-4GD-rev-10-rev11-rev12#kf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>GV-N105TOC-4GD<\/strong><\/a>) GPU, Asus <a href=\"https:\/\/www.asus.com\/us\/Motherboards\/PRIME-A320I-K\/overview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PRIME A320I-K<\/a> mini-ITX board, 500W ATX PSU, ICY DOCK <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icydock.com\/goods.php?id=281\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>ExpressCage MB732SPO-B<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>*<u>RETIRED<\/u>*<\/strong> 02\/09\/ 2021 &#8211; <strong>Antec Sr.<\/strong>: <em>Old info starts here<\/em>: Case is from a 2006 build \u2013 an Antec NSK6000 that I have recently added a power supply from a 2016 build\u2026from that same 2016 build I also moved the Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5 GHz Quad-Core Processor plus a Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3P Motherboard, plus 32GB\u2019s memory, CPU cooler &#8211; *ALL* intact and into the old Antec case, and in an open exterior 5.25\u201d bay a USB 3.0 Front Panel 2 Port was added (now two 2.0 and two 3.0 USB ports on front). It also has two Hot Swap bays and a DVD-Rom. It is now my main Linux test machine. Original cost of that i5-6600K with Z170 MoBo was $267\u2026just the CPU is now listed at $222 on Amazon, so that value remains steady even after 3 years. The 32 GBs of G.SKILL Ripjaws memory was $145 back then, and is a lot more now on Amazon. Basically, moving that entire CPU\/MoBo\/memory\/CPU cooler\/power supply into Antec Sr. was an upgrade value of at least $400-450 (one of the reason I have spent heavily on the Antec Jr. build).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Here are my custom PC builds over the recent years.
